StubHub vs. Ticket brokers

A lot of people buy their tickets for events from StubHub or some kind of secondary market. Buying tickets directly from Ticketmaster or from the event itself is the cheapest place to buy tickets. Ticket brokers will buy tickets to sold out events or shows directly from Ticketmaster and then mark up the resale price. That is how they make money. There are many restrictions put on ticket brokers to ensure they are running an honest and legitimate business. Some ticket buyers are so against buying tickets from a ticket broker because they think they just rip people off. In reality, it's places like Stubhub and other secondary ticket markets that are really ripping the customer off. StubHub makes its money by allowing ticket brokers to pay a fee and upload their ticket inventory on their website. So when you go to Stubhub.com and look at all of the tickets they have available, you are really just looking at thousands of ticket brokers tickets across the U.S. StubHub does not buy ONE actual ticket, they just list other people's tickets. So when you buy a ticket from StubHub, you not only buy tickets from a ticket broker, but you also are charged a 15% service fee from StubHub just for using their website. NOW THAT'S a rip off!! So buy directly from a ticket broker!!
